3D Printed Jewelry

INCISION

With a sharp minimalist design language, Incision finds form in the absence of material. Rooted in the concept of reduction (both in form + material), this collection continues an on-going study of finding innovative ways to decrease material components necessary to create an object and decreasing the amount of waste in the creation process. All rings in this collection are 3D printed and manufactured in .925 oxidized silver.

NEST

The nest is one of the most primitive architectural forms. Animals build nests as a means of shelter and to keep their resources safe. A nest is a home, but very different to the one’s we know as humans. While nests appear to be constructed in chaotic form, nature finds a way to create order in chaos, often times leading to elaborate and imaginative architectural forms that are more complex and efficient than what we as humans create.

Leveraging 3D printing technology, Nest is a collection of rings that take inspiration from the architectural form seen in nature. Each ring has been designed using CAD in Rhinoceros and visual programming in Grasshopper to achieve highly complex, chaotic, non-linear designs. Rings in .925 silver, antique .925 silver, and bronze are made from a 3D printed wax mold and then cast into a precious metal. An additional ring is made of black steel using Binder Jetting construction technology.
